If you are going to Sun Tech Days - London, we'll be set up on the same level as the cafe. Be sure to come by and take the Java Challenge. And of course we'd like to meet you!

NEW exams...

Java ME
Jim McLachlan, a blue belt from the UK and Soren Hilmer, a brown belt from Denmark, have released our first Java ME exam, which gets you 3 knowledge points. A sincere shout out to these guys for leading this exam.

Java SE Concurrency High-Level
This exam covers the new features from the java.util.concurrent package in Java 5. If you've ever wondered what a CountDownLatch is, this is the exam to check out.

A huge thanks to Jimmy Persson, a brown belt from Sweden and Chris Cooper, a brown belt from the UK, for leading the Java SE Concurrency High-Level exam, which gets you 3 knowledge points.

PMD's created endorses our exam

Tom Copeland kindly reviewed the objectives of the PMD exam. (And, he wrote about our community and the exam on his blog!)
The PMD exam, still in Beta, will move to the exam zone much (much) faster with your contributions. We encourage everyone to try out the exam.

A committer of PMD, Tom is the lead developer of PMD core. He started programming on a TRS-80 Model III, but demand for that skill has waned. Tom now works mostly in Java and Ruby. He's the sysadmin for rubyforge.org and a contributor to various open source projects. He's the author of "PMD Applied" and has a book on "JavaCC" in the pipeline.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
We appreciate your interest and continued support that keeps the JavaBlackBelt community going way strong!
